We greeted our guests in the nice, cool, air-conditioned front room of the reception hall.
Then…FOOD!!!
(Oh my heavens, I was sooooo hungry. And it was delicious.)
Then there was cake…
(We are SO focused. LOL)
…and champagne…
…and dancing…
First Dance: “Wondering Where You Are” by Tyrone Wells
Father Daughter Dance: “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw
Mother-Son Dance: “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts
…and bouquet tossing…
…and not-so-much garter catching…
(“uhh… No dude…YOU pick it up.”)
…and a Dollar Dance…
Our Dollar Dance songs: “If I Had A Million Dollars” by Barenaked Ladies, and “Broke Down” by Jack Johnson.
…and CUPCAKES…
(Strawberry Lemonade, and Cookies & Cream. Our wedding cake was vanilla w/tart triple-berry filling. UHMAZE.)
…and more dancing…
(my cousin Addy is a fantabulous dancer.)
Note: Since our DJ was provided by the venue, we were required to provide all our own music. So what do two 30-somethings pick for their wedding tuneage?
Yup. Lots of 90’s music. I love our “wedding soundtrack” & listen to it frequently.
…and some silly photos with our wedding party…
…and some swanky photos with a chair…
…and some purdy pics with my new Hubs…
…and some mingling with family…
(my cousins Amanda & Carley…we make up the ABCs!)
..and then, suddenly, everyone was gone, and the day was over, and we were swooped back into reality, trying to decide who would take home which leftovers, and trying to find someone to drive my car full o’crap back to my apartment…but no one was available…so I manned up & did it myself.
(getting the dress in my Kia was a challenge…thank heaven I hadn’t picked a fuller skirt.)
Then we dropped off all the random stuff at my apartment, and finally, I got to get in the getaway car:
With my knight in shining armor, and ride off into the sunset:
…into the really, really, REALLY hot sunset.
Later on in the evening, The Hubs & I realized that we probably should have taken some of those leftovers with us, because we were STARVING. So what do you do at 11pm when you’re starving?
You take your getaway car through the Taco Bell drive-thru, of course.
The sound of those cans on the back of the car as we creeped through the drive-thru…I seriously couldn’t stop giggling.
Tomorrow: HONEYMOON!!!
Ya know, we had a huge box packed up so we COULD have leftovers for our wedding night.... And wouldn't you know it they never made it up to the hotel room with us?!?! I am STILL upset about that, four years later!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Do you know what happened to them?
Delete1. SO PRETTY.
ReplyDelete2. Your entries haven't been showing up in my feed! Booo.
3. SO PRETTY.
4. That garter picture is freaking priceless.
1. Thank you!
Delete2. BOOO.... I sometimes have the same issue with yours. Conspiracy!
3. Thank YOU!
4. :D I was pretty stoked about my Mardi Gras garter. Caught at an official New Orleans Mardi Gras parade. :D
Yeah...nary a one of them boys actually REACHED for the garter as it flew through the air. Though, for the record, the red-headed one is actually getting married at the end of the year. :D
